EVERYONE IS WELCOME AT DBCOC
We don’t care who you voted for, how many figures are in your income, what kind of flip flops or shoes you wear, what doubts or questions you have, or even how messed up you think your life might be. We have a place for you…we believe we are a community of imperfect people who are trying to serve a perfect Savior. We are a proudly diverse group of people learning to live and love together.
We are a people who have busy, messy lives, but we’re pursuing and experiencing a transformative relationship with Jesus and one another. Whether you’ve been following Jesus for a long time or you’re exploring faith for the first time, we’re glad you’re here.
How long is a DBCOC service and what is the service like?
Our Sunday morning worship service lasts about an hour. Each worship service will include acapella singing, prayer, scripture reading, a time of communion, and a lesson given by one of our ministers. Visitors are welcome to participate as they feel comfortable. Lyrics for the songs are displayed on a screen so you can follow along. During the song before our communion time, men will pass out trays that contain two cups stacked together. In these cups, you will find the bread and the fruit of the vine. These emblems will be used to help us remember Jesus' death and resurrection. We will be led in a few thoughts about Jesus' sacrifice and a prayer for each emblem. After the singing and communion portions of the service are complete, one of our ministers will share an encouraging and hope-filled message about Jesus from God's word.
Children are always welcome in our worship services. If you are interested, we have a Children's Worship time for our young ones (ages 3-kingergarten). They will dismiss during the service, usually after communion. We also have an attended nursery for babies- age 2 and a quiet place for nursing mothers.
