Jesus said to them, “Let the little children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God”. Mark 10:14
Jesus reminded his disciples that children are important, and he wanted them close to him. Our children are a very important part of our church family, too. They are future preachers and teachers, moms and dads, and future doctors and business leaders. They are also present workers in God’s kingdom. Our kids are encouraged to serve in the work, along with everyone else. They can do service work, volunteer, encourage others, worship, learn and grow.
Each Sunday morning and Wednesday evening, we have Bible classes for all ages to study the Word. Our kids learn together in age-appropriate lessons involving games, food, crafts, computers, puppets, and other fun methods. We build a foundation for faith to grow. We strive build relationships with others through service and love.
Throughout the year, we have opportunities to get together and enjoy fellowship time with our families. Each summer, Vacation Bible School gives us a week to study a person from the Bible. We also have weekly events called Terrific Tuesdays where we go to the zoo, play on the slip-n-slide, play board games, get messy, and have lots of fun.
Our students in 3rd-12th grade are involved in Leadership Training for Christ. This is a nation-wide program that strives to teach students a love for studying the Bible, how to express what they have learned in creative ways, how to develop leadership skills to be used in the church family, and how to work together toward a common goal. All this work culminates in a regional convention on Easter weekend to share what we have learned.
